Britain is famous for many things: for historical and iconic monuments, for music, arts, for sports and the royal family. But also for the habit of drinking tea and wearing hats for almost any occasion, formal or not!
Speaking about the hats, there are plenty of social events in Britain suitable for wearing a hat. Some of the occasions are the go-to places to show off your hats and outfit! Being part of the Royal and of the high society etiquette, the tradition and the habit of having your head covered is moving forward with the very popular royal public engagements and the recent weddings in the royal family!
In my opinion, HRM the Queen has always been the fashion icon ladies always looked up to in terms of elegance and hat fashion. But a very fresh and young approach on the style has been initiated by Lady Diana, and closer to date, by Princess Katherine Middleton. Their style and fashion tastes along the royal etiquette put the milliners in front of the world, and with every royal wedding or public engagement, we are looking closely to their beautiful headpieces and what trend they are getting ahead. It is amazing how many styles, colours and shapes they are displaying!
Having in mind that Britain is the country of hats (and tea), I am putting together some of the most important dates for your calendar, in case (of course) you need some planning ahead for tickets, outfits, hats of course, and maybe even childcare!
